He doesn’t play out very often, doesn’t Ben Lamdin, aka Nostalgia 77 so there’s much excitement here in Backseat Mafia towers that he’s announced a rare live appearance, along with his full live band, at Rich Mix, London on Friday 18th September. After bursting onto the scene with this atmospheric (nu)jazz and fresh take on Big Band music in 2002, the Tru Thoughts stalwart has released a handful of brilliant records, including the recently released Measures – billed as Nostalgia 77 and the Monster
Added to that he’s worked with artists such as Alice Russell, Bonobo, Keith and Julie Tippett, Lizzy Parks and Prince Fatty. He’s been the recipient of a Gilles Peterson BBC Worldwide album of the year award, produced the likes of Jamie Cullum, and runs his own record label Impossible Ark.
We’ve teamed up with Soundcrash and are thrilled to be able to offer our readers the chance to win 2 tickets to the show. If you need to grab tickets (and trust us, you need to grab tickets…) then head over to http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/nostalgia-77/ for all the details.
