Listening to Du Blonde’s recent LP “Welcome Back To The Milk”, it’s obvious that she’s come a long way in the three years since her debut ‘Yours Truly, Cellophane Nose’ (released under the name Beth Jeans Houghton and The Hooves Of Destiny). Her sound has become more raw, more varied and generally more rock ‘n’ roll. We for one are definitely loving the direction she’s going in. Taken off the latest LP, ‘Hunter’ is a piano lead piece which shows Du Blonde’s more vulnerable side but none-the-less still highlights Du Blonde’s strong but soulful vocals. The new video to accompany ‘Hunter’ was shot on Super 8 on location in LA and according to the blurb “We wanted to try and get footage like the old home movies our families had when we were younger. So often footage like this is forsaken for videos shot on phones and the quality of those old memories is lost. We wanted to have something to show our kids.”
In addition to playing End Of The Road festival and a 3 date stint at London’s legendary Shacklewell Arms (the latter of which will be free to get in) Du Blonde will supporting Torres and Future Islands this September on tour.
