Following last Novembers news that Young Fathers had completed work on their new album, the trio – Alloysious Massaquoi, Graham ‘G’ Hastings and Kayus Bankole have followed up the first glimpse of the new record, Lord, with a new track In my view. They’ve also revealed more details of the album. Titled Cocoa Sugar, the twelve track album is due out on 9th March via Ninja Tune, and sees the three operating with a newfound clarity and direction.
In my view is dark and engrossing, with elements of african music sitting alongside this slightly angular bassline. As we’ve come to expect from the trio, it’s thoughtful and thought-provoking stuff, stiffened up by a killer chorus. Check it out, here
