Wynona started life in Japan where partners Natalie & Rich began their sonic journeys, creating expressive, guitar-driven pop at their home studio in central Osaka; finding comfort and a sense of homeliness in their creative output as they began to feel isolated and homesick alone in a foreign country.
Upon their return to the UK, the band have released several staggered singles over the past couple of years, and are set to release an EP this summer. They have shared a taster of what to expect with new single ‘Falling Into You’. A slice of acoustic-driven power-pop with a nostalgic, Romantic sound. Produced by Theo Verney (English Teacher, Lime Garden), the song laments the ebbs and flows of an everyday and very real romantic relationship.
The duo comments:
“As much as we dream it to be – real life relationships aren’t like the movies. There are ebb and flows through every relationship and ‘Falling Into You’ confronts the reality that there will always be things you won’t understand about the person you choose to be with. However, in spite of their shortcomings, you inevitably keep falling for them again and again, in a repeating cycle.”
A dreamy upbeat track that harks back to the heyday of indie pop with lush melodies that echo the sadness wrapped up in the lyrics. Natalie’s vocals are the perfect bittersweet match to the guitar driven pop laid down by the rest of the band. This is a track you may very well have on constant repeat.
