Track: WØØLS – Grain Drops

Adam Sabolick

WØØLS is the project of CA-based electronic multi-instrumentalist Brock Woolsey, who has shared the second single ‘Grain Drops’ taken off his forthcoming EP, ‘Santa Rosa’, which is out June 14th via Hit the North Records.

Using a mix of acoustic and digital instruments, WØØLS collages styles inspired by ambient, dance, and guitar-driven music. He composes a sound characterized by textured synths, fuzzy tones, soft pianos, heavy low-end, and driving drum patterns, taking inspiration from the likes of Jon Hopkins, James Blake, Tycho, Shlohmo, and Weval.

Fascinating repeating pattern of distressed bass notes and striking higher synth notes that twinkle like stars or falling grain drops. Hypnotic and captivating, it’s music to lose time too, though it isn’t wasted time.
