Western Australian band, Verge Collection‘s new single, ‘Feelin’ Old’ has an instantly engaging indie rock jangle that takes residence in your head like a virus. A very enjoyable one.
There is a quintessentially Australian larrikinism about the laconic vocals which provides the song with its unique sound, but the delivery mechanism is from the stable of bands like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers or REM: jaunty jingle/jangle loveliness:
This is classic indie guitar based pop of the coolest kind from the blazing wild west of Australia. Verge Collection’s debut album, ‘Flaneur’ is out on 3 March and the band is on tour throughout Australia in April with tickets available here:
