Hailing from Leeds, Venus Grrrls are making huge waves within the music world making their mark on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X, Amazing Radio. They have just shared their new single ‘Divine’ – recorded by Sugar House and mixed/mastered by Grammy-nominated Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Nova Twins) The new single arrives with a music video shot by their trusted collaborator Misha Warren.
Unlike the heavier subjects covered in their previous releases (Lidocaine, Liar Liar, Hex), ‘Divine’ is a journey of passion and desire that encapsulates the most relatable human experience of instant and apparent attraction with lustful lyrics against a sweeping soundscape.
Giving more insight into the track, lead singer GK says:
“’Divine” is the female gaze; the unsaid, but the known. It narrates the earlier stages of a relationship which is shrouded in mystery, making for an addictive and all consuming sentimentality.’”
Fuzzy drenched rock with full-on heart-piercing vocals as the hard hitting backing rattles your head. Dazzling fret work, bass heavy riffing and tumultuous drums, it’s rocky, its punky, its spirited, all done by one of the best in the business. Think we may have found your new favourite band.
