After a whirlwind year tearing up stages alongside Phoebe Go and The Belair Lip Bombs, Naarm/Melbourne’s alt-rock firestarters TILE are back, and they’ve brought the storm with them. Their latest single, ‘Cloud’, is a ferocious anthem of defiance—one that spits in the face of societal expectations with post-punk grit and infectious melodic hooks.

“It feels like you’re constantly having to justify your choices, explain why you’re not conforming to a set path.” James Morris

Blistering and bold, ‘Cloud’ taps into the frustration of trying to fit into a world that loves its boxes neat and tidy. Whether it’s relationships, identity, or just trying to exist on your own terms, TILE lay it all bare—the anxiety, the resistance, the sheer weight of it all. This isn’t just a song; it’s a battle cry. And with a sophomore EP on the horizon, TILE are proving once again that they’re not just making noise—they’re making a statement.

Formed by James Morris alongside bandmates Bek, Max, and Tom, TILE have cemented their place as a force in the local Melbourne scene, with their lyrics delving into themes of personal development, mental health struggles and the challenges of early adulthood. With their latest offering, TILE continue to push boundaries, providing a voice to those who feel they don’t fit into predefined stereotypes.
