Track: Three Years Younger Unveil Radiant New Single ‘Lost Path’ Ahead of ‘Pretty For Now’ EP

Suffolk’s rising alternative-pop duo, Three Years Younger share radiant new single ‘Lost Path’ and announce upcoming EP ‘Pretty For Now’.

Marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for sisters Charlie and Megan Simpson, whose evocative songwriting and spine-tingling harmonies have already seen them acclaimed across BBC Introducing and appear at major festivals, the duo continues to cement their place in the alt-pop scene, drawing comparisons to the likes of Birdy, Lorde, and Imogen Heap, while bringing a theatrical flair reminiscent of The Last Dinner Party.

Co-written and produced by the sisters themselves, the single crafts affecting melodies and lush, intricate arrangements to create a track which is both musically rich and exciting, whilst retaining a melancholic depth. Mixed by Max Jerry (whose credits include Netflix, BBC, and the Olympics) and mastered by Pete Maher (known for his work with U2, Lana Del Rey, and The Rolling Stones), and recorded with live band members Iñigo Ayestaran and the aforementioned Max Jerry, ‘Lost Path’ opens with a wash of ethereal vocal harmonies, driving drums, and a blend of crunching guitar and stylistic piano.

As the song progresses, it moves into a stripped-down verse of piano and soaring, silky smooth vocals, gradually building atmospheric layers with bass and guitars. The tension rises until it reaches an explosive finale of emotive lead vocals soaring over intense, driving guitar tones. The closing moments offer a cinematic wash of piano, acoustic guitar, and reverb-drenched vocals, blending conventional pop elements with a more unconventional song structure.

Speaking about the tracks themes and lyricism, the duo share: “‘Lost Path’ is one of our oldest and most cherished songs. It was born out of the struggle we both felt to stay true to ourselves while navigating the pressures to ‘fit in’ and take the safest route.”

With Pretty For Now on the horizon, Three Years Younger have some big months ahead. With bags of potential and a lot of exciting achievements already under their belt, they are definitely one to watch in 2025.
