Thornhill are back, and they’re making noise—loud, visceral, and impossible to ignore. Their new single ‘Nerv,’ out now via UNFD, is a masterclass in tension and release.
Packing serrated riffs that slice through the air and a relentless urgency that grips you from the first note, ‘Nerv’ is a sonic rollercoaster. Moments of shimmering, melodic reprieve only make the heaviness hit harder.
“The lyrics reflect the struggle between longing and the need for self-preservation, highlighting how intimacy can be both alluring and risky. This tension shows the complexity of love, illustrating how beauty and peril intertwine in an emotionally intense dance.” – Thornhill
Thornhill possess a flair for nuanced rock beyond their influences. Via their ARIA Award-nominated 2022 album Heroine, Thornhill solidified a steadfast reputation as one of the most innovative and immersive heavy acts in the Australian scene, with Heroine debuting at #3 on the ARIA Albums charts, and at #1 on the Australian Albums charts.
Thornhill kicked off 2024 supporting Silent Planet on extensive North American run, before joining Aussie heavies Polaris on tour in the UK and Europe, appearing at Impericon Festival alongside As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red and While She Sleeps, and touring North America supporting Northlane.
Most recently, Thornhill joined Fear Factory, Thy Art Is Murder, Hands Like Houses and many more performing at Froth & Fury Fest in Adelaide, with the band also currently on the road headlining a run across the UK and Europe.
