The Silver Lines return with their new single ‘Hotel Room’, a bright indie tune packing infectious guitar lines and a compelling lead vocal.
Blending tight indie instrumentation with an urgent, half-spoken-half-sung, post punk influenced lead vocal, the band capture a unique sense of energy and intensity on the single – melancholic and melodic whilst retaining a biting sense of expression. Bright, chorus and reverb guitar lines top a grounding bass and drum beat to create a soundscape that harks back to early 00’s indie whilst retaining a fresh, vivid edge akin to the likes of Black Country New Road and Fontaines D.C.
Speaking about the single, the band share: “Hotel Room gently blurs the lines between a raw punk tune and an indie ballad. Lyrically it was a cathartic song to write as it allowed me to understand particular emotions I had buried.”
