Not resting on their laurels after a massive year that included a British tour, the Salarymen return with news of an EP due out in September and a bright and sprightly single ‘I Forget About Time to tempt us in advance.
As always, Salarymen inflect their songs with a day-glo pop brilliance that has traces of sixties girl bands and a blinding luminescence. They are indeed crafters of the most indelible melodies and choruses that soar like an eagle and brighted the dullest of days.
And the target of this radiant ray of sonic sunshine? Humanity’s best friend:
This song is for all the people who immediately locate the dog at a house party and spend the whole night with them. And those who say they’re too busy to come out as they’ve already got plans (with their dog). When everything’s going wrong and people in your life are disappointing you, you can always trust a doggo to make you feel better. They don’t talk back or give you any shit – they just radiate pure joy, and when they eventually depart this world, a piece of you goes with them.
Indeed the dedicated love of a pooch is blissfully expressed:
Always waiting at my door
Never questioning my love
You don’t know what’s going on for sure,
But I like, that I never have to try
When I’ve got you in my sight
Pure dreamy pop perfection with an uplifting jingle jangle beat. The track comes complete with a video starring the object of the duo’s affections:
