Hewn from the emotional turmoil of personal tragedy and challenge, The Last Dinosaur (aka London-based
soundscape artist Jamie Cameron) releases new album “The Nothing” on 7th July via Naim Records. It’s been 8 years since debut release “Hooray! For Happiness” and a triumphant return.
The first single from the new album is the beautiful, gentle and ethereal hymn to love, life and loss “All My Faith”. From the sweeping strings and choral rise to the life-affirming lyrics, you can hear why this song has been added to the Spotify playlist “The Most Beautiful Songs In The World”.
With “All My Faith”, Cameron envelops the listener in a cocoon of calm, tranquil reflection – evoking the cosiest of rooms in a cabin-retreat with only nature and sky for miles; the artist describes the song as “a celebration of how precious life is”. The sound is very reminiscent of the best work of Sufjan Stevens or DeVotchka – not bad company to keep.
“All My Faith” is clearly a reflection on a traumatic and challenging period in Jamie Cameron’s life but the song is essentially hopeful and uplifting with the message that love is timeless and wins in the end. A beautiful and emboldening sentiment at a time when the world really needs it.
“when all is over for this world, the love you showed her will save your soul”
Look out for our review of the full album soon.
