Manchester indie-pop quartet The Covasettes are back with their latest release, the breezy, shimmering indie-pop bop ‘Love In Polaroid’.
Produced by the band’s bassist and talented engineer, Jamie McIntyre, and mixed by John Catlin (known for his work with Inhaler, Jordan Mackampa, and Talk Show), ‘Love In Polaroid’ quickly builds a soundscape of crisp guitar tones, warming bass and tight drums, adorned with subtle synths, creating a warming, restrained and ultimately infectious indie backing. Topped with the understated, relaxed, and emotive lead vocals, the track balances its commercial melodies with a fresh, summery, feel-good sound palette reminiscent of early 2000s.
Speaking about the meaning behind the track, the band explains:“It’s almost as if when the clocks go back, something within this band chimes and all of a sudden we come alive. We were born to make songs to drive along to on a hot summer day with your pals, and this song is ready to do all the above and more. It’s a really fun song about the initial stages of dating someone and getting into a relationship where everything feels so fresh, exciting, and almost dream-like. I tried to encapsulate that feeling in a sense where it’s like nothing can go wrong for you; that’s how I want people to feel when they listen to it.”
Having had over 12 million streams on Spotify alone, The Covasettes have already built a feverish fanbase and continue to showcase the excellent songwriting which has gained the band acclaim through their career so far.
