Tahi are a relatively new phenomena in the southern city of Hobart, but in their short life span so far have released a series of highly impressive and utterly delectable singles, as well as playing some dynamic live shows. They have now released a new single, ‘Wolf Grin’ ahead of a few more lived dates and the trajectory is ever upwards.
There is a detectable dream pop luscious sheen to ‘Wolf Grin’ which reveals a sixties-influenced bop that pops and sparkles with verve and shades of eighties bling that recall Bananarama or The Go-Gos with its pop luminescence. An indelible sky-high chorus thrills with its cinematic widescreen scope and the band positively shines in the delivery.
The track is accompanied by a video showcasing the band at play and at work and a little AI magic, brimming with an unadulterated joy:
This is another impressive missive from a band with a future so bright you’ll need sunglasses. ‘Wolf Grin’ is out now and available to stream and download here and through the link below.
Fronted by Sydney-born songwriter Leah Tahi Randall and accompanied by some of Hobart’s finest musicians, Tahi is a band that continues to blossom.
