With the release of his seventh album titled ‘The Wreckage’, is set for release on the 27th January via his own Amazing Tapes From Canton label. The album ends a five-year hiatus for Stephen Black and his fifteenth year writing, recording and performing songs under the pen name Sweet Baboo. The third single to be taken off the album ‘The Worry’ is out now.
Black comments about the track:
“This is the oldest song on the album and, although it’s kind of like a throwaway kids’ tune, it took me a long time to get the lyrics right. I wanted the lyrics to be as direct as possible. No trimmings. I think it’s me telling either myself, or my son, or both that there’s no need to worry. Like a mantra. I think that’s easier said than done. In my mind the Rainbow theme tune was inspiration.”
With joyful piano chords and the rumbles of brass, Baboo’s ode to not worrying is sweet and catchy and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. A fitting final glimpse into the forthcoming album from a brilliantly talented songwriter.
