Track: Swansea Risers The Stray Pursuit Share new Single ‘I Don’t Know’

Swansea risers The Stray Pursuit share the vibrant new single ‘I Don’t Know’.

Brimming with energy and catchy melodies, the track brings together an alt-rock intensity with infectious indie-pop songwriting to create a track which flirts between the two styles. Opening with an atmospheric guitar strum, soaked in blue sky reverb, the track soon bursts into a wall of punching drums, tight distorted guitars and warming bass. Moving to a melodic, melancholic verse, the vocals shift to a more urgent, gritty delivery and the drums enter once more pulling the track to its anthemic chorus. Building throughout to a climactic closing chorus, the track is a great example of the bands ability as writers and instrumentalists.

Talking about the track, the band explains: “‘I Don’t Know’ is an introspective alternative rock song that captures the feeling of longing and uncertainty. The lyrics reflect on past experiences and challenges ahead in life. This song resonates with anyone navigating life’s complexities while seeking connection and understanding.”

With their roots in the influences of bands like Catfish and the Bottlemen and The Hunna, The Stray Pursuit crafts songs that are both familiar and fiercely original. Led by Aaron Morgan’s commanding vocals, with Dylan Evans on guitar, Fred Wilkinson on bass, and Ben Lewis on drums, the four-piece has steadily built a reputation on the strength of their live performances. They’ve supported artists such as Andrew Cushin and The Lottery Winners and have already made memorable appearances on stage with bands like The K’s and Pastel. After a sold-out hometown show at The Bunkhouse for their single Let It Be Known, the band continued the momentum with their Domino Effect debut EP tour, selling out two of their five dates in Swansea and Cardiff.

A rising band with a lot of potential, the new single is just the start for The Stray Pursuit as they continue to grow.
