Steve Conte, might be known for his work with the New York Dolls and Michael Monroe, but he is having a rather successful solo career. He has returned with the follow up to his 2021 opus ‘Bronx Cheer’ (read our review here) with the release of his forthcoming album, ‘The Concrete Jangle’.
Scheduled for launch on Record Store Day (April 20th), this 10-track album features collaborations with XTC’s Andy Partridge, who co-wrote five of the songs with Conte, including the new single ‘We Like It’ which has just been released.
Buzzing guitar fuelled rock n roll led by Conte’s finely aged vocals along with some pop inspired backing vocals begging for audience participation. It’s well written, well performed, and simply a solid slice of rock. This is the result of when talent refuses to stop.
