Melancholic dark metal band Sombria released a new music video Ballet of Sadness. The track is taken from their debut album ‘Chirographon Dei’ which was released in late 2020 by Inverse Records.
The band comments:
“‘Ballet of Sadness’ a song that portrays the struggle, the pain, the beauty and divinity behind art. Being an artist is something that words can hardly describe. Giving your body and soul in exchange of mastering your precious gift, the only thing that gives you peace, serenity and purpose while at the same time breaks you down…
This piece is dedicated to all the people who in spite all the odds persevere, commit to the fullest and never cease till they achieve the best, not only on their field but as humans as well.”
A song of two halves that showcase the bands many talents. Opening with the mezzo soprano of Valentina Devin over simple piano and choral voices. The metal enters with a stab of guitar and drums filling in the void and taking on the lead line of the track. Ending in a glorious mix of the two fractions to create a beautiful contrast that goes with the lyrics.
