Taken from his forthcoming compilation album Past, Present, Future, out May 3rd on Mute Records, former Crime and the City Solution frontman Simon Bonney has shared a previously unreleased track, A Sweeter Kind of Pain’.
About the track, Simon explains: “A Sweeter Kind of Pain is about the loved one you will always be with, even if you are not together – joined by shared experience and connection, a tether that cannot be broken – it’s better to accept it, than to fight it, or it will consume you.”
The tracks is a sedate but emotive affair, as Bonney’s baritone swells and pleads as he glides over the string and organ accompaniment with a Mark Lanegan-esque (more of him later) tale of lost love.

In May Simon will be on tour with the aforementioned Mark Lanegan across the US.
