Track: Runrummer Unveils Nostalgic Synth-Pop Single ‘All I Wanted Was To Be Romantic’ Ahead of Debut Album ‘Elevator’

As anticipation builds for her debut album ‘Elevator’, alt-pop artist Runrummer releases a captivating new single, ‘All I Wanted Was To Be Romantic’.

Soaked in nostalgic synth-pop aesthetics, comparable to Georgia, the new single shines through its melancholy lyricism with rich melodies and bass grooves that create an evocative lof-fi electronic atmosphere. Runrummer’s vocal performance balances wistfulness with contentment, effortlessly conveying the conflicting emotions of unrequited love.

Delivering a twinkling simplicity through some excellently arranged synth work over a boxy electronic beat, the track’s catchy indie electronic hook also draws parallels to Shura and Romy, highlighting Runrummer’s ability to blend different influences into her distinctive alt-pop style.

Describing the song, Runrummer shares, “‘All I Wanted Was To Be Romantic’ is about falling for your best friend; thinking that you’re both on the same page and then coming to the realisation that they just don’t feel the same way, and you will be left forever longing for a love which cannot be.”

Runrummer has been making waves in the music scene over the past three years, achieving significant milestones, including opening the Introducing Stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, charting on iTunes Norway, and reaching #14 in the Music Week Club Chart.
