An ode to love and wearing your heart on your sleeve, Runrummer’s new single ‘Orbit’ is a joy. Released alongside the announcement of her debut album ‘Elevator’, the track showcases the brilliant songwriting than can be expected across the full release.
Radiantly catchy and accessible yet retaining the cool authenticity, ‘Orbit’ brings a vibrant sense of energy through it’s driving drums and plucky bass, topped with bright synths and biting clean guitar tones. Led by Runrummer’s relatable, fun and effervescent, John Cooper Clarke ‘I Wanna Be Yours’-esque lyricism, the track captures the essence of infatuation mirrored through uplifting melody.
Speaking about the single, Runrummer explained: “Orbit is all about the idea of being completely and utterly captivated by someone, to the point where you constantly want to be in their orbit in one way or another. It’s fast and hard-hitting, capturing the essence of those intense feelings.”
Accompanied by a playful, beautifully shot music video, which captures Runrummer’s infectious energy the track’s colourful soundscape is given a visual aid to reinforce the tracks feel-good nature.
