with the release of their EP ‘A wealth of evolution’ due to drop on June 5th via Moshi Moshi Records, Sunderland post-punks Roxy Girls have released ‘Dirtier’, taken from that release.
After this drum led opening that sets Dirtier as something a bit left of the field, it bursts into action, not so much hanging on the coattails of fellow north easterners The Futureheads, more dancing in and out of their fire. It’s this awkward, angular but ultimately intensely satisfying and melodic thing that seems over before you can hold onto it, but remorable enough that you miss it straight away.
