Ahead of her 6 date headline tour, Glasgow’s Rianne Downey has shared her new single ‘Hard’. The track is taken from Downey’s forthcoming EP ‘Come What May’ due on the 17th of February.
Downey says of the single:
“It’s a love song and the first straight up love song I’ve released. It’s about trying to make it work out but it’s just not destined to be, though everything’s going to work out, one way or the other, in the end. Sometimes people, especially women, can be tricked into thinking they can change the person they’re with to make an imperfect situation perfect but it’s not going to be as simple as that.
Even with the heart-aching lyrics, the track has an upbeat joyous sound, helped by Downey’s gorgeous voice that simply melts the listener. The buoyant drumming and floating strings give a jaunty feel that’s hugely infectious.
