London based jazz-electronic quartet Respair have shared a brand new track ‘Hold On to Me’, taken from their upcoming EP ”The original colour of the sun’ due later this year.
They say:
“Opening with its warming, intimate chords, the song leads invitingly into an instantly catchy groove, reverberating with tender vocals and neo-soulful pulse. It’s a serene depiction of the human quest for intimacy, belonging and safety, with verses that grow and unfurl, carrying the listener on a journey through cold waves of jagged, driving drums, fluid bass line riffs and on to its climax – a series of at turns towering and scorching keyboard improvisations, before offering the listener a quiet moment for reflection as the outro lulls and dissipates.”
A warm and intimate start is true. The comforting keys blend with the soulful vocals and the tick of drums as the track meanders with some spaced out soloing that really hits the spot. It’s an extremely satisfying track and the band are laying down some exciting music that deserves several spins.
