Track: Pozi – Slightly Shaking Cells

The weird and entirely unique Pozi are ending the year with new track ‘Slightly Shaking Cells’ that acknowledges the disappointment that comes with the realisation you are ageing, but counters this with the argument that time brings knowledge of your own mind. The track is the first glimpse of a body of new work and more info will be released next year.

“This song is inspired by figures such as Boudica, Cleopatra and Xena the Warrior Princess, and the kind of immortality you can create through believing in your own strength. The song then switches to someone admiring another person from afar, zooming into everyday existence away from matters of life and death.”

Pozi always craft something that’s angular and awkward yet utterly brilliant and this track is no different. Here the madness lies in the skitty violin and Rosa Brook’s almost deadpan vocal delivery. The bass and drums set a stately walking pace and plod along giving the track a grounding as the swirling noises and bursts of floaty violin melt into each other. The band have really grown comfortable with their sound.
