Instantly comparable to Billie Eilish, ‘Torment’ is built around an infectious, driving bass and four to floor kick that pulls the track forward as Natalies smokey vocal floats across the soundscape.
As the track builds, introducing subtle splashes of synth and washing electronics, Natalie’s ear for production shines. Managing to build the track gently and gradually, the layering is very subtle but effective, keeping the track engaging yet never cluttered, allowing the incessantly catchy vocal line to shine. Beguiling, emotive and effortlessly cool, the track is a glittering example of Natalie’s musical abilities.
Talking about the process behind the rack, Natalie explains: “I started by creating the bassline, it inspired me immediately. It felt haunting yet playful and I knew I wanted to match that energy lyrically. My favorite songs are the ones that can transition you from your bedroom to a night out.”
