MNDSGN, aka Ringgo Ancheta, is preparing for the release of Snaxx, out on June 14th via Stones Throw. It’s the follow up to last years Snax – a self-released tape of remixes, and this time features some favourites from his hybrid live/DJs shows like the first glimspe of the record – Deviled Eggs.
The track features gluey synth sounds that ooze over the top of this warm bassline and shards of more glittering synth lines spill on top of that. As the track unfurls at the end, it twist and turns, taking the listener on different funk led journeys before reaching a cul-de-sac from which it can’t, momentarily, escape.

Of the release, Ancheta says – “I think of all the posthumous Dilla leaks, and how I’ve always been just as, if not more inspired by the stuff that was never supposed to come out. Albums should be proper meals, but every now and then a snack can really hold you over”, envisioning the record as inviting friends round for dinner and providing “something to chomp on” while preparing the meal, the meal being a new album.
We’re just about full up here.
