Track: Melanie Baker – All My Plants Have Died

Newcastle-based indie riserMelanie Baker shares pulsating new effort ‘All My Plants Have Died’, via Du Blonde’s cult indie label Daemon T.V.

Speaking ahead of her single release, Baker explained: “The song is based on a true story, all of my plants did actually die within a week because I was sad and I also just wasn’t very good at looking after them. But it’s also meant to be a metaphor about trying to look after your mental health whilst keeping up in such a fast paced world.”

Darkly coated but poignant lyrics are sweetened by Baker’s light honeyed voice over the buzzing of guitars and crashing drums. It’s grungy in places, ear grabbing in others but all together brilliantly entertaining and one to watch out for next year.
