Just four months after first meeting, Yorkshire’s Manuka Hive have begun forging a name for themselves as a live act to watch, with slots supporting rising stars such as The Blinders, Sheafs and Avalanche Party and being tipped by the likes of BBC Introducing and This Feeling. Now, they’ve released their debut recorded offering, “R.E.D”; in some ways it feels like a throwback to the heyday of Britpop, especially through the snarling, Liam Gallagher or Ian Brown-esque vocals. It’s impressive how cohesive the track is though; the T-Rex/Queens of the Stone Age riff in the breakdown compliments the massive walls of guitar sound that make up the rest of the track.
