Track: lutruwita/Tasmanian band Verticoli are back with ‘The Fear’: a thunderous onslaught of cathartic power.

Following swiftly on the heels of solo single from member Sam Hunn (see review here), nipaluna/Hobart trio Verticoli are back with their ferocious new single ‘The Fear’ – a smashing vibrant slice of anarchic rock. Delivered with a raucous swagger that positively rips apart the speakers, this is a scything slice of pounding rock that eviscerates the ears and reverberates around the head.

The band says of the song:

The Fear is about channeling panicked, nervous energy into something positive creatively. The music was written in that kind of a headspace, and the lyrics try to reflect that kind of intensity, and the idea that you can disempower fear by doing your best to immerse yourself in it.

The guitars howl over the thundering percussion and the vocals prowl with a seething anger. When the song abruptly ends, you can still feel the blast ringing in your ears. This is the aggressive heavier side of Verticoli – a band that can deliver a range of styles with aplomb.

‘The Fear’ is out now and available to stream and download through all the usual sites.

Last year’s album ‘The Echo’ from Verticoli is was one of the highlights of the year – see my review here.
