Melbourne’s Loose End have just released a new track – “Without a Trace” – which is a punchy, power pop punk blast that steers away from the mundane. Melding a pop sensibility with a hard core delivery, it is a refreshing twist on standard punk fare.
According to singer, Ben Smalley, “The track was recorded, mixed and mastered by the incredibly talented Roman Koester. For some reason the hook without a trace just seemed to stick with me. I really loved the ring it had to it. I’m not sure where it came from but it definitely wasn’t from my mum being an Anthony LaPaglia fan.“.
The song is accompanied by a video set at a wedding showing that the band doesn’t take themselves too seriously:
The song is available now on Spotify and iTunes. If you are in the Melbourne area, Loose End are launching the single on 25 February at the Bendigo Hotel – tickets available here.
Loose End are:
Jackson Trudel – Drums
Ben Smalley – Vocals
Ben Schmidt – Guitar
