Track: Lonely The Brave – Distant Light

Back in April, Lonely the Brave released their first material with new singer Jack Bennett: the single, “Bound”. Check out our review of that here. Now they return with another track, “Distant Light”, on Easy Life Records.

The band say: “We find ourselves in trying times at present. As you may know, some of us are NHS key workers and as a result we know health and wellbeing is so incredibly important. Recent global events have shed a light and awareness of how we can all do our bit to ensure we’re acting with caution but also positively.”

“Escapism through music, film, art and literature is a huge thing for us, and we hope for you guys too. With that in mind, we wanted to share “Distant Light”, a song we finished off during this isolation period. We hope some of you can borrow from it. Let’s look after each other.”

This is a more chilled out power pop affair with jangling guitars and driving drums, all well controlled with Bennett’s vocals;.

“Erase myself, I dive into pieces. I needed help, I needed hell. The soul needs help, more inner reasons. Wishing you well, but I needed hell.” They guys have created a soundscape full of emotion to go with the emotive lyrics.
