Western Australia continues to punch above its weight with Little Guilt‘s new track ‘Nowhere’. This is the aural equivalent of a sunny canoe ride floating gently down a dappling river. It bobs and floats and gently rocks with a dream pop fugue, a hypnotic journey that moves effortlessly with a melancholic sheen.
The subject matter is just as charming and sweet as the ride. The band says:
‘Nowhere’ is a song about procrastinating. It’s about wanting to do everything else but the thing you’re supposed to be doing. A very relatable topic for most people.
The lyrics contrast with the bright effervescent sound, capturing the quagmire of indolence:
The night is when the monsters dance
When the lights go out I step in a trance
The world is moving too fast
Wandering like an outcast
Stuck into a quick sand
A little guilty pleasure indeed:
‘Nowhere’ is out now and can be downloaded and streamed here. It will be on the band’s forthcoming EP ‘I Do Everything Around The House’, out on 13 September 2022.
