Jimi Tenor’s “Summer of Synesthesia,” out now on Timmion Records, is a stunning blend of psychedelic soul and library music, resplendent with lush summer chords and an electronic sheen that radiates warmth. Over Cold Diamond & Mink’s steady, soulful rhythm, Tenor layers delicate synth textures, creating an intoxicating atmosphere where sounds seem to turn into colors and flavors.

This track, which also features Tenor’s understated yet poignant vocals, but on minimally as he lets the track breathe, feels like a vivid postcard from sun-soaked days, an irresistible reminder of warmer times. Released on a 7” vinyl single on February 28th, “Summer of Synesthesia” is both nostalgic and forward-thinking—a testament to Tenor’s ability to craft timeless, evocative soundscapes.

Jimi Tenor says about the single: “Recently I’ve been fascinated by synesthesia. I was writing this song at my summer house looking at birch trees swinging in the wind against the blue sky. It’s one of my favorite things to look at, actually. Also birch tree tops swaying in the wind used to symbolize the act of sex in Finnish films from the 50’s. I’ve been thinking if green and red frequencies are in a similar relation to each other like tritone notes in music. You know they say they are opposite colors and were used in 3-d projection in movies in the early 3-d days. But mixing the senses during the summer is the theme of this song.”
