If you’re in need of some rather gorgeous electro-pop, then sit back and listen to ‘Utopia’, the new track from Leon of Athens. Soaked in bubbling synths and dripping with melancholy, Utopia, still manages to leave you uplifted, the chorus providing the shards of sunlight needed to keep you looking forward. It’s taken from his upcoming David Korsten (Bat For Lashes, Everything Everything) produced album Xenos, a record which was informed by the refugee crisis, the rise of fascist groups in Europe and Brexit, but also personal upheavals: fractured relationships and death in the family.
He recently played a sold-out UK and European headline tour, which included a headline show at The Lexington, London. He’ll be returning to the capital on November 17th for a performance at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen.
