Brighton quartet Ladylike share their first new music in 2024 with new single ‘Horse’s Mouth’ via Something Records.
Produced by the band’s own Spencer Withey at Brighton’s Farm Road Studios, this latest cut sustains the band’s intention to offer sparkling illuminations on the benign drudgeries of everyday twenty-something life via an enigmatic stream-of-consciousness approach to songwriting and lyricism.
Vocalist/guitarist Georgia Butler comments:
‘Horse’s Mouth’ depicts the relentless work ethic of the modern day person through the narrative of an unnamed individual.“
Expansive indie paired with folky vocals gives the track a dreamy vibe and a lo-fi structure. It’s delicate in places, yet a common strength runs through, echoed in the crashing drums and electric guitar. There is just something to love within the deliciously crafted four minutes.
