La Luz, Shana Cleveland band of surf/garage/psych explorers, have unveiled a mesmerizing new single titled “I’ll Go With You.” Despite opening with a gorgeous growling psychedelic guitar line, it swiftly transitions into a beautifully laid-back melody that envelops the listener. The song’s gentle backing vocals and instrumentation create an atmosphere you can immerse yourself, almost luxuriate in.
“I’ll Go With You” is a preview of La Luz’s upcoming album, News of The Universe, set for release on May 24th under Sub Pop. Following their earlier singles “Strange World” and “Poppies,” this new track showcases the band at their dreamiest, and most melodic.
Lead singer Shana Cleveland draws inspiration from Yanti Bersaudara, an Indonesian group of sisters from the ’60s and ’70s, for this song. “This song is heavily influenced by Yanti Bersaudara,” Cleveland explains. “Lyrically, this song is a retelling of a dream I had one night when I had gone to bed with the melody of this song in my head.”
“I’ll Go With You” is not just a musical journey but a dreamlike narrative set to captivating melodies. La Luz has once again proven their ability to create immersive and evocative music. Check it out, here
