South African artist, Jeremy Loops has released a new track, ‘Better Together’ which will also feature on his third album ‘Heard You Got Love’, to be released on 8 July.
‘Better Together’ was co-written with Ed Sheeran and his frequent collaborators Johnny McDaid and Steve Mac. Loops met Sheeran at a party during Sheeran’s stadium tour of South Africa.
“He said I was a better loop artist than he is, very kind, but not true! But we are very similar artists, in many aspects of our jobs. We spent the night hanging out and talking shop, and he suggested we write together.”

Loops is a self-taught musician, who like many young South Africans earned money by working on super yachts for a while. He mastered his musical craft by practicing endlessly whilst sailing the high seas. But his stint on the yachts also led to another passion – when he observed the volume of waste in the industry, Loops decided to establish Greenpop, an eco-project that has filled 400 green-free spaces with over 150,000 trees. Apart from Greenpop, Loops also founded The Big Food Drive to deliver food supplies to some of the poorest communities in South Africa.
Setting aside his activism, Loops is an acclaimed musician. He has played some of the world’s most prestigious venues (including a sell-out headline Brixton Academy show,) and has amassed over 234 million global streams. He has also garnered much praise in the music press.

‘Better Together’ features Loops’ unique ability to fuse sunny melodies with traditional African harmonies. It’s a blissed-out, acoustic-based song with a some shimmering guitar work and an irresistible chorus, that is guaranteed to result in many more fans for Loops.
The new album ‘Heard You Got Love’ includes a collaboration with Loops’ childhood favourites Ladysmith Black Mambazo called ‘This Town’, which was released last year.
