Uk based acoustic guitarist Jon Gomm, has shared the video for his latest single ‘The Ghost Inside You’ taken from his recent album ‘The Faintest Idea’ out now via Kscope.
Jon has collaborated with The Samsara Collective for this video. Set in the Niamos Radical Arts Theatre, Manchester. The instrumental video also features the new JGM10 guitar Gomm has developed with Ibanez Guitars, the first ever acoustic guitarist to develop a signature model with them.
“To have been on this adventure with my childhood dream guitar company, to design a guitar perfect for modern fingerstyle guitar playing… I do not deserve it.”
Ghostly synths float in the background but it’s what the man does with his fingers that takes centre stage. From double finger tapping to percussive playing with the guitar body there’s no denying Gomm’s skill as a player but that would miss the point. He uses all that skill to create emotively powerful music. The ghost inside you starts delicate and light but Gomm brings in some emotional weight as the track develops. The notes build until full on strumming takes over and the synths fly high over the guitar. Beautiful.
