Jay Moussa-Mann shares the infectious alt-pop swayer ‘Tangled’.
Bringing together a backdrop of tight electronic drums and layers of fuzzy electronic bass and twinkling synth, ‘Tangled’ captures a radiant 80s influenced, breezy and summery synth-pop sound. Topped with vibrantly catchy melodies through Moussa-Mann’s emotive, authentic vocal delivery, the track offers a commercial appeal and an alternative edge.
“I wanted to create a song that really captured Turkish summers for me,” Jay explains. “I spent my childhood there, so it never felt like I was ‘going on holiday’ when summer arrived. It was part of my life—the burning sands, the cicadas, the people. It was who I was.”
Jay’s musical journey has been marked by a series of milestones, including support from BBC Introducing and playing live across the UK, sharing stages with artists like Serious Sam, Jodie Nicholson, Amelia Coburn, and Ren Lawton. Her hard work and talent were further recognised when she was awarded the Do It Differently Award by Help Musicians, which provided funding for her debut album.
‘Tangled’ is yet another example of Jay Moussa-Mann’s ability to create accessible, personal lyricism whilst also capturing radiant musicality.
