Track: It takes ‘Seven Days’ for The Lovetones to spread a little spaghetti western joy.

Perennial favourites here at the antipodean outpost of Backseat Mafia, the glorious The Lovetones are back in the saddle with an intriguing new single ‘Seven Days’ that seems to stash a little Ennio Morricone in its genetic code, with just a touch of oriental exotica also detectable. Matt Tow’s sonorous, thundering vocals are leavened by some delightful harmonies and the ebullient whistling furnishes the trademark jingle jangle guitars.

There is a heavy level of melancholy that seeps through and yet the overall effect is a sense of joyous abandonment with a production that is so crisp you could cut yourself on it:

What an immeasurable delight as always.

‘Seven Days’ is out now and available through the link above and here.
