Track: Imaginarium Announce Debut Album & Unveil Captivating New Single ‘Airloop’

Blending elements of Jazz, electronica and R&B, Dutch newcomers Imaginarium, released the hypnotic new single ‘Airloop’.

A collective fronted by the projects brainchild and songwriter Anton de Bruin (known for his work with Dragonfruit among others), Imaginarium offers an insight into the full width of Anton’s creativity as he navigates through layers of analogue synths and sprawling live jazz instrumentation.

‘Airloop’ is a great example of this musical approach – live drums, brass and evocative flute by renowned UK flutist Harry Trevillion (known for collaborations with Steam Down and Charlotte Dos Santos) come together to create a rich, melodic and expressive soundscape. Topped with the vocals of Brazilian-Belgian vocalist Helena Casella, the track is given an R&B flavour to reflect against the sprawling electronica-jazz instrumentation.

Talking about the project Anton explains: “The Imaginarium is a place where reality and fiction fuse into one. That is the goal of ‘Imaginarium,’ to intertwine the worlds of Jazz, Dub, and club culture.”

Speaking on the track, Helena and Anton explain: “Airloop is based on the image of a Castle in the Sky. Seeing yourself as a dominant force in the world and meeting situations head on with confidence. Floating above the physical world and tuning into a higher frequency. The track itself is based on a dark, mystical image of an unknown place floating between the mists.”

With an album on the way and support already growing cross both national press and radio, Imaginarium have already established themselves as one to watch.
