When Iluka teased glimpses of ‘Cry Evil!’ across TikTok and Instagram, the internet didn’t just notice—it ignited. In days, those snippets amassed 5 million views, a viral wildfire stoked by fans from every corner of the globe, all clamouring for the full track. And now, the LA-based, Australian-born artist has finally delivered, dropping a song that promises to be as incendiary as its online debut.
‘Cry Evil’ marks the second release from Iluka’s forthcoming sophomore project, the ‘Haunted One’ EP, scheduled for release on Friday, 20 September. The EP’s first single, also titled ‘Haunted One,’ garnered widespread global support. This follows the success of her debut album, ‘Queen of Turbulent Hearts.’
‘Cry Evil’ is a fiery declaration of female autonomy, arriving at a moment when the right to control one’s own body is under siege—from the shadow of domestic violence in Australia to the charged political landscape in the U.S.
