Norwegian quintet Hajk have followed up their debut album, which showcased their emotive indie pop, with a new track, ‘Untouch’. Sweeping melodies, tumbling synth and gritty guitar lines are all the order of the day, while a sense of the melancholy coats the whole thing. More than that though, there’s melodies that have you returning for more, particularly the soaring chorus that makes you catch your breath.
Of the track, the band say “This song is about experiencing sudden changes in a relationship – from trusting and depending on each other, to being all alone. Sometimes it will feel so overwhelming that you wish you’d never met in the first place. Or at least you’re wishing that you were able to foresee what was going to happen”.
