Northampton garage rock risers Fountain release the explosive new single ‘Itch’. Offering a taste of the upcoming EP ‘Talking To Ghosts,’ set to release on November 15th, the band has also announced their first UK headline tour starting in mid-late November.
Produced by acclaimed mixing engineer Lee Russell, ‘Itch’ exemplifies Fountain’s talent for crafting high-octane, driven and gutsy rock music with commercial appeal. Bursting with punchy drums, tight guitar work, and a raw, melodic lead vocal, the track strikes a perfect balance between the gritty aggression of garage rock and the accessibility of indie.
Written by frontman Jordan Noon during his teenage years, ‘Itch’ taps into the nostalgia of youthful intensity and love’s reckless abandon. Reflecting on the track, Noon shares, “‘Itch’ was partially written at a time when responsibility was a foreign concept. It’s a reflection on love in its purest, rawest form.”
Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Black Keys, IDLES, White Stripes, and Queens of the Stone Age, Fountain blends infectious riffs, a palpable sense of energy, and emotionally resonant lyrics. The upcoming ‘Talking To Ghosts’ EP promises to showcase their journey so far, demonstrating a sound that feels polished, yet still fiercely raw and fresh.
