Famous, the project led by South-Londoner Jack Merrett, has shared the video for his new track ‘What Are You Doing The Rest Of your Life’. The is taken from his forthcoming record, ‘Party Album’, due out October 11th via untitled (recs). The track follows the previously dropped double single of post-hardcore noise and apocalyptic folk, “God Hold You” /“It Goes On Forever”.
Merrett comments:
“a long searched for happiness that is somehow promised and yet forever out of reach”. “The video,” he continues, “plays with this confusion. We decided to make a trailer for a road movie, never deciding what it was about, only how it would feel”.
An emotively charged track held in place by the dominating drums and synths under the slow grating of Merrett’s vocals. He finally breaks through the jangly mire with a howl of angst and pain. Its upbeat sad indie, the sound of standing alone at a disco. It’s different and just a little bit brilliant.
