French symphonic death-metal band Exanimis have shared a lyric video for their new song ‘Throne Of Thorns’ taken from their forthcoming debut album ‘Marionnettiste’, due out this Friday March 5th via Klonosphere Records/Season of Mist.
Classical notes, choral voices and a funeral march vibe introduce the bands new track. Evil sounding vocals dominate this track that dispels any delicacy the intro may have had. The band are not ones to stick to one genre within a track though. A freaky piano led spoken word section emerges as they slowly ramp up the intensity with choral chanting in the background before the lead guitar fires off some intricate runs up and down the fretboard. The band have pulled another hugely interesting and enjoyable musical theatre masterpiece out of thin air once again. Utterly sublime.
