After signalling his intent with a series of EP releases on Interscooe Records and a debut album packed with dreamy indie gems, Jack Kenworthy aka Colouring has taken his considerable songwriting wares over to the brilliant Bella Union label. New single Lune is out now, and is accompanied by a video shot and directed by Pierce Tews.
Of the track, Kenworthy says: “For me, this is the song about teamwork in a relationship. It’s a message of togetherness between two people during adversity and how you prop each other up when the other feels weak.”
Piano led and soaked in this emotive, almost heartbreaking melody, Lune soars and dances quietly along, driven by shuffling percussion and this prodding off-beat acccompaniment. Lines bleed into eachother and harmonies sugarcoat the dreamy feel of it all. It’s quite beautiful.
Check it and it’s equally lovely video out, here
