Track: Colin Stetson – The Six

Jonathan Durand

Award-winning Canadian-American saxophonist, multireedist, and composer Colin Stetson has shared a new track from his forthcoming album. ‘The Six’ follows on from the previous single and album title track ‘The Love It Took To Leave You‘. The new album is due out on the 13th of September via Invada Records (excl. N America) and Envision Records (North America).

Stetson comments:

“One of the first songs I wrote for this record, ‘The Six’, is a vengeful strut. Played on solo bass saxophone, this one’s big and mean with long arms and a toothy grin.”

Cinematic, industrial, haunting, and captivating from start to finish, it’s like a horror movie score but without an entire orchestra—just a man with some mighty lungs. Stetson is out there crafting music that is as uniquely brilliant as it is brilliantly unique.
